Over Three Years?

I can't believe it has been more than THREE YEARS since I did the A to Z Challenge and last posted on this blog.  Seriously, where does the time go?

In 2020, when everything was on lockdown, I really had every intention of getting in that sewing room and finishing so many of my "half-way done" projects.  And then the slump hit.  Ever been in one?  I just didn't want to sew ... every time I walked into that room, I just became overwhelmed with all of the projects, scraps, and other stuff that was taking up my space.  I would then turn around and find something less stressful to occupy my time.

This feeling lasted for about 18 months (believe it or not)!

When I finally got up the nerve, it was with a new sense of purpose.  Organize first and then find something easy to finish quickly ... something that will give me some accomplishment and joy instead of panic.  When I start a new project, I do so with such enthusiasm over the planning and piecing parts.  It's the quilting and binding that I dislike the most.  So when I got back in the sewing room, I decided that I just needed to finish three quilts that needed bindings.  This was huge!!  These quilts have been sitting finished but without bindings for YEARS!  One of those was my Bonnie Hunter Mystery from 2016 and is now on my bed!  Yay!

I now have some motivation ... my mojo is back!  Recently, I have been working on mostly small projects and lots of charity work (which I will explain more about in upcoming posts), and it has been so nice to be back in the sewing room without being overwhelmed.  I guess, the best thing to do when you fall off a horse is to get right back on again!  Here we go!

Happy Sewing!
